Financial Wellness

Your financial well-being is paramount to Bank Iowa. We want to give you the tools you need to be successful at work and home.

401(k) Retirement Savings Plan

Qualified employees are eligible to defer income into the 401(k) plan immediately upon hire with the company 401(k) match–team members are automatically enrolled at 3 percent of the team member’s salary. Qualified employees are also eligible to participate in the bank’s profit-sharing program.

Discretionary Contribution

A discretionary profit-sharing contribution may be made to the retirement plan by Bank Iowa at the discretion of the holding company board.

Flexible Spending

All qualified employees can designate pre-tax funds from their salary to go into their flex spending account to pay for dependent care or certain medical expenses. Flex credits may be allocated to flexible spending accounts.

Health Savings Account

Qualified team members are eligible to enroll in a health savings account (HSA) through Bank Iowa, which receives an annual contribution from Bank Iowa.

Team Member Referral Bonus

Bank Iowa will provide a referral bonus for the successful referral of a new team member.

Education Expense Reimbursement

Bank Iowa will reimburse eligible pre-approved team members for 50 percent of their tuition or meeting costs upon successful completion of their program.

Additional Financial Benefits

In addition to our other offerings, Bank Iowa team members also receive a free checking account, free checks, free cashier's checks, free money orders and a free safe deposit box.

Insurance & Health

  • Health, dental and vision insurance — Team members can elect which benefits they receive from our a la carte benefits plan.
  • Life insurance — Bank Iowa pays 100 percent of the cost of coverage for basic life/accidental death and dismemberment insurance for all team members. Employees also have the option of adding life insurance plans and covering their dependents at their own expense.
  • Long-term disability insurance — Bank Iowa provides full-time employees with long-term disability insurance and pays the full cost of this coverage. Disability income benefits are provided as a source of income.
  • Voluntary benefits — Qualified employees may purchase insurance plans that include cancer, accident, critical illness, heart/stroke, term life and universal life.
  • Wellness program — Bank Iowa's voluntary wellness program is designed to improve employee health by promoting a healthy lifestyle.
  • EAP — Our employee assistance program (EAP) offers team members and families free help with personal and work-related problems.

 

Paid Leave

  • Paid time off (PTO) — Bank Iowa has established a flexible PTO policy for vacation, personal time, personal illness or dependent care—including several carryover days per PTO plan year.
  • Paid holidays — Bank Iowa observes national holidays as determined in local markets.
  • Parental leave — Bank Iowa has established a 12-week fully paid leave for primary parents and a 4-week fully paid leave for secondary parents upon the birth or adoption of a child.
  • Wellness Hours — Team members have an allocated bucket of wellness time annually for mental and physical health.
  • Volunteer time off (VTO) — As an active supporter in our communities, team members are encouraged to use paid volunteer time off to support the local organizations in the places we call home.
  • Bereavement leave — Qualified team members receive up to five days of paid leave upon the death of an immediate family member.
  • Sabbatical Program — Bank Iowa offers sabbatical leave for eligible, full-time team members after completing their 10th, 20th, 30th and 40th year of service with the bank. Team members fund their sabbatical credits with unused PTO hours.
