Bank Iowa in Clear Lake Announces Leadership for Local Location

July 17

(West Des Moines, Iowa – July 17th, 2025) — Bank Iowa today announced the addition of four new team members who will lead operations for the $2 billion bank’s newest location in Clear Lake, Iowa. The office opened on June 2, 2025.

Jeff Badger will serve as a relationship manager in the Clear Lake location. Badger comes to the bank from First Security Bank where he most recently held the position of vice president, ag/commercial lender. An Iowa native, Badger lived most of his life in Parkersburg where he was a member of the last class to graduate Parkersburg High School before it merged with Aplington High School. Badger relocated to Clear Lake in 2016 and has become a well-known face at the Knights of Columbus, Mason City Chamber of Commerce and Mason City Noon Rotary Club.

Of his future with Bank Iowa, Badger said: “I look forward to helping grow the newly opened location and helping out the community of Clear Lake. The bank’s passion of being people centered was a big draw for me, and I’m excited to bring my best to the farmers, families and businesses that make this area such a special place to live and work.”

Amy Hogg, Bank Iowa community bank president, most recently served as vice president, client director for Kasasa, a financial technology and marketing provider. Prior to that position, she was vice president of retail banking for Clear Lake Bank and Trust. Hogg has more than 20 years in community banking experience and has held several board and other leadership positions with groups like Clear Lake Parks and Recreation, Clear Lake Booster Club, Clear Lake Chamber of Commerce, North Iowa Corridor Regional Loan Fund Committee and United Way of North Central Iowa. Hogg was raised in Mason City and holds degrees from Hamilton Business College, North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) and Buena Vista University.

According to Hogg, connecting with the bank’s senior leaders solidified her decision to join the team. “I immediately loved the vibe of Bank Iowa,” she said. “The team is collaborative, creative and takes a different approach to banking. I’m excited to be a part of it.”

Robert Powers, who has held a variety of roles in mortgage lending over 27 years, will serve as a mortgage loan officer in Bank Iowa’s Clear Lake location. Powers comes to Bank Iowa from Flagstar Bank where he was a senior loan officer. Powers is an Iowa native who was raised in New London and graduated from Mount Pleasant Community High School. He has volunteered for several iconic Clear Lake organizations, including the Surf Ballroom and CLASS Car Club, as well as the Ventura Fire Department and Iowa Underwater Search and Rescue.

On his future with Bank Iowa, Powers said, “I’m looking forward to working for a local, family-owned bank and the opportunity to get back to where my professional heart has always been, mortgage lending.”

Angie Webb is joining Bank Iowa as retail branch manager of the Clear Lake location. Webb has more than 20 years of experience in banking and served most recently as an ag and commercial loan processor for First Citizens Bank. Also an Iowa native, Webb grew up in Fort Dodge and graduated from Ellsworth Community College. She is an active community volunteer who has dedicated time to Habitat for Humanity’s Hammers and Heels, Cerro Gordo Animal Shelter and Clear Creek Elementary, where she has participated in a series of activities, including coaching flag football and introducing the 3rd grade class to banking.

Webb felt a strong connection to Bank Iowa from the moment she saw the “Coming soon” sign in front of the location on US-18 in Clear Lake. “Every time I drove by, I would tell whoever was in the car, ‘I’m going to work there.’ I knew with certainty Bank Iowa was where I was supposed to be. My intuition was correct. I feel right at home with Bank Iowa.”

Bank Iowa CEO Jim Plagge said the addition of these four experienced financial professionals exemplifies everything great about community banking. “Jeff, Amy, Robert, and Angie have spent six collective decades supporting the Clear Lake community—not just as bankers, but as neighbors, volunteers, and friends. That’s exactly the kind of team we want representing our values at the local level.”
